Memorial Day tends to be one of the more solemn and serious holidays of the year. After all, it celebrates the lives of those brave men and women who have given their lives while in service of our country. But since it’s a celebration, Memorial Day doesn’t necessarily have to be all gloomy, especially if you have your kids along.

If you’re in Colorado this year, consider checking out some of the main attractions and places where Memorial Day is celebrated in full:

·       Your kids will love Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This exciting Colorado Springs zoo features an impressive variety of plants and animals over an impressive 146 acres of land.
·       As long as you’re in Colorado Springs, you can also attend the Territory Days for free and experience a lot of fun Memorial Day events held in Old Colorado City.
·       If you’re in Denver, you can consider participating to the Memorial Day Run and March. This friendly competition invites veterans, uniformed Military and civilians to participate, have a lot of fun, and help to feed homeless veterans.
·       The Boulder Creek Festival is probably the best event to consider if you want to have fun in Boulder, CO for the entirety of your Memorial Day weekend. Good festival food, great concerts, a farmers’ market, a sports exhibit and, of course, lots of cold beers will be waiting for you.

Have fun this Memorial Day and give Colorado a chance to surprise and delight you. Local attractions might be many, but you’ll only need a few to get the ball rolling and help your entire family have a truly wonderful time.
