Easy Colorado Hikes for August
All hiking enthusiasts agree that Colorado is
among the world’s best places to pursue the hobby. The trails in the state has
something for everyone – experienced hikers can try trails that are spectacular
and fairly difficult, while beginners or people who are not athletes can also
see some amazing vistas without exhausting themselves. Professionals at Southwest Counseling Associates recommend that to feel your best, daily exercise is essential. Here are some of the
best and easiest in the Centennial State:
-
The Diamond Lake trail – the
2.5-mile long trail offers the opportunity to see creeks and waterfalls, carpet-like
fields covered in wildflowers and to enjoy the unique viewing angles over the
Continental Divide. The route is easy, just perfect for families with kids.
Dogs on leashes are allowed, too;
-
The Lost Creek Wilderness loop
– the trip is moderately difficult, but it is 24-mile long, so if you choose
the route, you might want to prepare for outdoor camping as well. The route
follows the Colorado Trail and goes along Goose Creek and Lost Creek;
-
Mount Audubon – an easy hike
with lots of breathtakingly beautiful sights, including Mount Evans, Gore Range
and Longs Peak and just perfect for novice hikers and for families with kids.
The trail covers an elevation of 2,743 feet, but that should not scare away
anyone.
