What Makes the Self-Care Routine for Millennials Special and Effective

Millennials – the generation born between the 1990’s and the early 2000’s – are perhaps the age group with the deepest awareness of the importance of self-care. Often called the generation of emotional intelligence, Millennials know how to take care of their physical and emotional health through nutrition, fitness, meditation and other strategies– here are some components of their self-care routine:

Millennials

-        Starting therapy early – the emotional intelligence of Millennials being more developed than in other generations, Millennials are more willing to talk about their emotional issues. Millennials also recognize the importance of processing emotional traumas early on, therefore they start going into therapy at a very young age;

-        Stress reduction techniques – Littleton counseling therapists recommend exercise and a good nights sleep as part of an essential self-care routine. Waking up very early and without an alarm clock, enjoying me-time to the fullest, working-out vigorously in a gym and yoga are all parts of the routine;

-        Healthy diets – the generation is not at all keen on fast foods and saturated fats. What Millennials choose to include into their diet instead is avocados, fruits, fish and dairy, all organic and sustainably farmed. They are also aware of the importance of proper hydration, so they never forget to drink their fruit juice, herbal tea or water.
