Tips for Having a Fun and Safe Halloween
Most people love Halloween and feel very excited about the
colors and traditions specific to this time of the year. However, too much
excitement can make us be less vigilant and careful and this may get us into troubles
– adults and children alike.
If you want to enjoy a fun and safe Halloween, Littleton counseling professionals suggest safety precautions and keeping your head on your shoulders, for the sake of everyone.
When it comes to the kids, make sure to teach them to be
responsible. Halloween night is not a night when anything is acceptable. They
must still respect rules such as pedestrian safe circulation, to avoid
accidents, staying in well-lit areas and avoid dark corners (even if doing
scary things is the goal of this celebration) and explain them the consequences
of vandalism. Unfortunately, many children are tempted to do mean things on
Halloween night, such as throwing eggs in the houses, disturbing animals and
even worse. Regardless their age, none of these is acceptable and will be punished
by law.
Halloween is also the night when children eat lots of
sweets. Teach them to examine the
candied they receive, to avoid anything that looks suspicious (such as broken
packages) and also to keep the sweets away from pets!
